During emergency power outages, occupants of larger structures must have a clearly visible means of exit, especially if vision is further obscured by smoke. Photoluminescent egress markings are a cheap alternative to electrically illuminated signs, and starting with the 2009 IBC, will be required in hospitals and any structure over 70 feet in height. MIS is equipped to install egress markings on steps, landings, handrails, perimeter demarcation lines, doors, and any other path of egress required by code.
